Local skills & funding updates from around the county
Progress Update on the Essex LSIP Action Plan

The Local Improvement Skills Plan serves as the focus for skills policy decisions within Local, District, and unitary Authorities. By fostering collaboration and coherence, we are streamlining potential policy formulation and funding allocation.

Employer Representative Body’s (ERBs), informed by local needs assessments, are now shaping policy decisions that closely align with the actual skills requirements of our communities. This alignment ensures that interventions are targeted and impactful.

Colleges are actively embracing the assistance provided by Local Skills Improvement Plans (LSIPs) and are proactively adjusting and modifying their educational offerings in alignment with the identified priorities outlined within the LSIPs.

As we continue this journey, our collective commitment and government funding support to skills development should remain unwavering. Please find link to the updated road map.

Our intent in everything we do is to be visible and drive change.

Our current focus includes identifying opportunities to streamline the skills landscape and additionally, we are actively working on the development of two essential resources: an Employers Toolkit and an Apprenticeship Toolkit. These tools will play a crucial role in supporting our objectives.

For those who are working with us and for those of you who have attended any of our events, thank you for your continued support as we work towards enhancing skills development and economic growth in our region.
