We’re thrilled to announce that Joanne Giles, Executive Director of Essex LSIP, will be speaking at this year’s Festival of Business, sharing her insights into how the Essex Local Skills Improvement Plan (LSIP) is working to bridge the gap between education, skills, and business needs.
The Essex LSIP, led by Essex Chambers of Commerce on behalf of the Department for Education (Skills England), is driving change by working closely with employers, training providers, and local authorities. The LSIP has already identified key sectoral skills gaps, and Jo will speak about the progress being made - from creating new training pathways to aligning what learners are taught with what employers really need. She will emphasise the central role of employer input: without businesses sharing their challenges, ambitions, and skill needs, the LSIP cannot fully succeed.
At the Festival, Jo’s session will offer a unique chance to understand how this partnership-driven approach is making a real difference in Essex. You’ll hear about the roadmap for future change, the tangible impact so far, and how you can be part of shaping the workforce of tomorrow. Whether you represent a business, educational organisation, or are curious about skills development in Essex, this is your chance to amplify your voice and connect with the LSIP’s mission.
