Shaping LSIP 2.0
Engaging Through Roundtables to Understand the Evolving Skills Landscape
The summer has passed in the blink of an eye, and as we transition into autumn, our focus has remained firmly on planning for LSIP 2.0. This next phase represents a pivotal opportunity to deepen our understanding of the local skills landscape and ensure that our approach is informed by the voices of those who know it best, employers, educators, and stakeholders across the region.
Over the past few months, we’ve been laying the groundwork for a series of 15 roundtables scheduled throughout the autumn and winter. These sessions are designed to be collaborative and inclusive, providing a space for open dialogue about the current and future skills needs across sectors.
Our aim is to:
• Review the existing skills landscape, identifying gaps, strengths, and emerging trends.
• Gather insights directly from employers and partners, ensuring LSIP 2.0 reflects real-world challenges and opportunities.
• Help to understand how we may co-create solutions that support workforce development and economic growth.
Each roundtable will focus on a specific theme or sector, allowing us to tailor discussions and gather nuanced perspectives. Whether you're in advanced manufacturing, health and social care, digital, or another key industry, your input will help shape a more responsive and impactful LSIP.
We know that the skills landscape is constantly evolving, and LSIP 2.0 must be agile, evidence-based, and locally grounded. These roundtables are a crucial step in making that happen.
We look forward to hearing your views and working together to build a stronger, more skilled workforce for the future.
