Culture Essex is launching a key piece of work to look at the needs of Essex’s creative industries as the landscape of local government, government spending reviews and devolution continues to rapidly change, and particularly in light of the government’s ‘Invest 2035: UK Modern Industrial Strategy’ which identifies the creative industries as a key driver of economic growth and innovation in the UK.
As conversations continue at a local and national level, Essex County Council, through its Cultural Development Service (Culture Essex) are currently working to ensure that the cultural and creative industries are recognised and represented as valuable and high potential growth sectors in Essex. To make sure we reflect the real needs of creative professionals we have commissioned We Made That to run a survey for those working in the sector.
Joanne Giles, Executive LSIP Director said: ‘‘The government's UK Modern Industrial Strategy has highlighted the creative industries as a key driver for economic growth and in Essex we have a lot to be proud of with a rich history of nurturing creative talent.
"This project will be a great asset in identifying Essex’s strengths in the creative industries in the county and the opportunities we have for growth"
